Michael Williams, vocalist with the million selling group came to the school and rehearsed with 14 students to warm up for the gig singing classic songs such as Saturday Night at the Movies and Stand by Me. The students, aged between 14 and 17 years old, will also sing with The Drifters when they perform their brand new song written by former Boyzone singer Ronan Keating.
Lucy Monday aged 15 says: "Michael is a real inspiration and has given me the determination to succeed in the music industry. Being part of this show is also giving me an insight into the popular music of previous generations."
Sophie Campbell, aged 15 says: “I heard these songs but didn’t know who they were by. I usually listen to heavier music such as The Foo Fighters but I really like this style of music and I’m really excited about performing with the Drifters.”
The concert is at The Orchard Theatre, Dartford on October 11th.
