FACULTY LEADER OF HUMANITIES (this includes the subjects of MFL, Geography, History and RE)
SALARY: MPS + TLR 1C
Blackfen School is a progressive and vibrant learning community that focuses on raising the aspirations and releasing the potential of every young person in our care. In 2017, 68% of students achieved GCSE A*- C grades, including English and Mathematics at four and above. Our flourishing mixed Sixth Form offers a wide range of courses at AS and A2 level, as well as vocational level 2 and 3 courses. Sixth form students achieved a 100% pass rate at A2 and over 54% of the grades awarded were at Grade A*-B. Ofsted graded the school as “good” and we are now looking to progress rapidly towards “outstanding”.
Our Governors wish to appoint an ambitious, talented, innovative, well-qualified and motivated middle leader who is committed to raising achievement.
The successful candidate will be leading the Faculty whilst teaching in either, History, Geography, Spanish or French. They will have the capacity to make a real contribution to the work of a supportive and continually improving school. Ambition for excellence, a passion for student achievement and the desire to develop professional skills within a supportive learning community will characterise applications for this post.

This post is considered to be a customer-facing positon; as such it falls within scope of the Code of Practice on English language requirement for public sector workers. The school therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016 to ensure that the post holders have a command of spoken English sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements.
