Part -Time, 18 hours per week (Monday – Wednesday, 8.30am – 3.00pm)
38 weeks per year
Bexley Scale 5, Points 1 (£7,749 pro rata per annum) 

Blackfen School is a progressive and vibrant learning community that focuses on raising the aspirations and releasing the potential of every young person in our care. In 2017, 68% of students achieved GCSE A*- C grades, including English and Mathematics at four and above.  Our flourishing Sixth Form offers a wide range of courses at AS and A2 level, as well as vocational level 2 and 3 courses.

Our Governors want to appoint a Temporary Student Welfare Assistant. The successful candidate will have recent experience in an office environment.  In this interesting and varied role you will be dealing with pupils on a daily basis.  You will be the first point of reference for medical emergencies. The successful candidate will be calm, empathic, well organised and self-motivated.

Experience of working in Education would be desirable. The successful candidate will be required to undertake a Disclosure and Barring Service Check.

This post is considered to be a customer-facing positon; as such it falls within scope of the Code of Practice on English language requirement for public sector workers.  The school therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016 to ensure that the post holders have a command of spoken English sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the person specification. These will be applied during the recruitment/selection and probationary stages.
