Year leaving Blackfen School: 2014

Subjects I studied at Blackfen School: I studied 13 GCSE's including English, History and Classics. I later went on to study AS History, English, Psychology and Religious Studies.

What have you achieved since leaving Blackfen School?: After leaving Blackfen, I was a young carer for a while and then went on to college for a year to enable myself to go to university. I worked full time and studied when I could. After a year of hard work, I got into the University of Leeds. I packed up my belongings and moved to Leeds permanently to study Classical Civilization. During my degree, I travelled a lot, learnt an ancient language and lived in China for a short while. I have since graduated and have started an MA in Museum Studies.

What are your fondest memories of Blackfen School?: My fondest memories of Blackfen include making lifelong friendships, I know everyone says that but, I truly have made friends for life. Even throughout our changing circumstances, we still try our best to be there for the big moments.

Another fond memory is discovering Classics through an optional out of hours GCSE, I will forever be thankful for that opportunity as it has truly shaped my life.

What have you achieved since leaving Blackfen School?: After leaving Blackfen I did a 3-year musical theatre course at D&B Academy of Performing Arts where I got to play parts such as Rizzo - Grease, Vanessa - In The Heights, Veronica - Heathers and loads more.

Since graduating I've been in a few adverts & done loads of singing gigs alongside Westend stars!

I'm working hard to get my first professional credit in either television/film or theatre - it's not easy, but if you stick to it & believe in yourself, anything can happen!

What are your fondest memories of Blackfen School?: I did however do a musical theatre workshop for the year 7's as part of an EPQ (I taught them material from Matilda the Musical) it was a great experience & the kids really enjoyed it.
