What have you achieved since leaving Blackfen Sixth Form?: I now work in a law firm in London as a PA and training to be a legal secretary.

 Danni Foley

Subjects I studied at Blackfen Sixth Form: History, ICT & Graphic Art
(Music Technology at AS).

What have you achieved since leaving Blackfen Sixth Form?: I went to study a BA (Hons) in Computer Animation Arts (skillset accredited!) at UCA, I'm currently heading towards graduating with a 1st or 2:1. I've also been an ambassador and union member for the university throughout my time there, and I'm currently hoping to make the course's selection for the New Designers business centre in July to showcase my work to industry members for future career prospects. I'm hoping to achieve a lot more within the next year!

What are your fondest memories of Blackfen Sixth Form?: Probably my time there and meeting new people during who still remain close friends.

 Max Rendell

Subjects I studied at Blackfen School: I studied Maths, History and Geography.

What have you achieved since leaving Blackfen School?: After graduating with a first class honours degree in mathematics from the University of Portsmouth, I started my masters in data analytics.

What are your fondest memories of Blackfen School?: My fondest memories are being with my friends in free periods.

 Lucy Holland

Subjects I studied at Blackfen School: A Level: History, Sociology, Business, EPQ.

What have you achieved since leaving Blackfen School?: In June 2018 I graduated from Cambridge University following a successful time studying History alongside rowing for my College’s women’s boat and shooting archery for the university’s beginner’s team.
Having spent a short time working on a digitisation project in my College’s archives, I have now taken up a role in Cambridge University’s Admissions Office working on admissions policy and outreach. Alongside this, I am studying part-time for my second undergraduate degree in Natural Sciences.

Subjects I studied at Blackfen School: GCSEs which included Citizenship and dance.

What have you achieved since leaving Blackfen School?: Since leaving Blackfen school I went on to college where I achieved my Level 2 early years. I then went on to working at a nursery where I achieved my Level 3 in childcare. While working at a nursery I have progressed from an Early years practitioner, to a baby room leader and now also a SENCO.

What are your fondest memories of Blackfen School?: The Christmas Panto and people that I met.

 Hayley Middleton

Subjects I studied at Blackfen School: Childcare, Sociology, Business and the EPQ.

What have you achieved since leaving Blackfen School?: I left sixth form with a place at Canterbury Christ Church University to study Early Childhood Studies, however after six months I decided it wasn’t for me! I left uni and went back to my part-time job where I discovered my passion for HR.
Not long after I started an apprenticeship in HR and am not officially CIPD Level 3 Certificate Human Resource Practice Qualified!
I went on to secure a full time position at London South East Colleges, where I’m now waiting to take on my CIPD Level 5!

What are your fondest memories of Blackfen School?: I absolutely loved school! At the time I didn’t realise how great it really was, but looking back I made some of the best memories of my life at school.

 Brooke Mollie Percival

Subjects I studied at Blackfen School: Business Studies A-Level, Sociology A-Level and ICT A-Level.

What have you achieved since leaving Blackfen School?: Since leaving Blackfen I have completed an apprenticeship qualification at IG Group (the biggest online trading company in the world, as well as passing CISI Compliance exams. This has enabled me to become a Compliance Analyst.

What are your fondest memories of Blackfen School?: Sixth form common room and Sociology lessons with Miss Smith.

 Kayleigh Hodkin

Subjects I studied at Blackfen School: History, Government and Politics, Sociology, English Literature and Extended Project Qualification.

What have you achieved since leaving Blackfen School?: After leaving Blackfen School for Girls I went to the University of Southampton to study Modern History and Politics with a year abroad.
I completed my year abroad at the Universität Potsdam, Germany. As a result I began to learn German which, surprisingly, has become a new passion of mine.
Since graduating, I have spent a lot of time working abroad. I spent the summer working at an American summer camp and now work as an English Language teaching assistant in Austria.

What are your fondest memories of Blackfen School?: I have many fond memories with my friends and teachers at Blacken, many of which I still keep in touch with and visit regularly.

 Joe Dye

Year leaving Blackfen School: 2015

Subjects I studied at Blackfen School: BTEC Business, BTEC Law & BTEC Sport.

What have you achieved since leaving Blackfen School?: I am now a fully qualified NVQ Level 3 Welder and fabricator. My day-to-day responsibilities include repairing a wide range of vessels on the River Thames. In addition to this, I am a fully qualified tower crane driver and on track to pursue my future career in management.

What are your fondest memories of Blackfen School?: Having a good laugh in the common room.

Dean Giddy

Subjects I studied at Blackfen School: Psychology, Mathematics, Business Studies, Music Technology (AS only)

What have you achieved since leaving Blackfen School?: After leaving Blackfen I made a drastic switch of career to peruse software and game development.

I received a first class BSc in Games Design and Development from the University of Greenwich and landed my first gig as a software engineer at an Engineering consultancy firm.

I then moved on to become a specialist at a virtual production studio - Magnopus, who build interactive experiences for shows, concerts and exhibitions and have worked on some big name shows like The Mandolorian.

What are your fondest memories of Blackfen School?: The social aspect of Blackfen was always great. I met and learned from some incredible people!

The ability to hone in on your strengths was always welcomed at Blackfen. The teachers did an amazing job of bringing people out of their shell and comfort zones.

Ellie Woodland

Subjects I studied at Blackfen School: Fine Art, History & English Literature.

What have you achieved since leaving Blackfen School?: In 2015 I left sixth form and gained an apprenticeship through Middleton Murray which was based in central London. I was organising events for CEO’s of top recruitment agencies across London and was there for three years.

I then decided it was time to see a bit of the world, so I quit my job and travelled around Australia for 7 months. I came back to the UK and joined the Met Police! 3 years in now!

What are your fondest memories of Blackfen School?: Mrs Schroder in Fine Art and Mr Brown’s singing.

Subjects I studied at Blackfen School: Sociology A-Level, English Literature A-Level and History A-Level

What have you achieved since leaving Blackfen School?: Finished a degree in Sociology BA at 2:1 level at the University of Leicester and then a Graduate Diploma in Law at the University of Law and then the Law Practice Course so that I can qualify as a Solicitor!

What are your fondest memories of Blackfen School?: The common room, the waffles, the pizza and Miss Smith my fave Sociology teacher.
