December 2015 38 students went to New York during December to explore mathematics.
During December 2015 38 students went to New York during December to explore mathematics. They learnt first hand how to exchange between sterling pound and USA dollars and taxation within the USA and started the trip by visiting the Christmas tree at the Rockefeller centre. They explored the interactive MOMATH museum, riding square wheel bikes, solving puzzles and realising maths can appear in everything. They learnt about the parallel and perpendicular road system and orientated from the 9 /11 memorial to the statue of liberty. Visited Marys department store backstage tour on how the business is run and how they use maths to increase profit. The trip was rounded off by visiting the ice skating rink in central park and 5th avenue before catching a the flight.
