Raising aspirations - releasing potential

CRY Testing

In 2016 one of our ex-students sadly passed away due to an un-diagnosed heart condition.  He was a fit, healthy 18 year old who had no previous health issues.  As a school we are now working with his family and the charity CRY (cardiac risk in the young) to hold a screening centre at the school on the 30th June.

This will allow 100 of our young people to be tested for cardiac conditions that can then be monitored. The cost of running the screening day is £5000. We are aiming to raise as much money as possible towards the cost of the screening day and have arranged a number of events in order to do this. In addition we are holding a raffle which will be drawn on Monday 9th July. There are some absolutely amazing prizes on offer, kindly donated by local businesses - please see the list of the prizes on offer. Tickets are £1 a strip and will be on sale in the Sixth Form office and in the main school reception. Sixth Form students will be selling during CT every day.

If you are interested in making a donation please donate through the following website: (if you do this, please write ‘Blackfen Sixth Form’ in the message box).
