Admissions
Choosing a secondary school can be a daunting experience and we recognise it's a very important choice to get right. To support you in making decisions about the schools to which you would like to apply, we recommend going to as many open events as you are able to and, ideally, visiting a school 'in action' during the school day.
Our open events are advertised on our 'news and events' table under open days. We would be delighted for you to visit the school during our open mornings, and for our open evening.
At both our open mornings and our open evening, you'll be able to chat with staff and students, hear from the headteacher about the vision and values of Blackfen and ask lots of questions about our school. We look forward to welcoming you.

Appeals will be heard up to 40 school days after the deadline. Appellants will receive at least 10 days notice of their appeal hearing. Decision letters will be sent within 5 school days of the hearing wherever possible. |

Late applicants: |
Appeals will be heard within 40 school days of the deadline for lodging appeals – where possible, or within 30 school days of the appeal being lodged.

Post 16 Appeals: |
i) where the offer of a place would have been conditional on exam results, appeals will be heard within 30 school days of confirmation of those results;
ii) where the offer of a place would not have been conditional on exam results, appeals will be heard within 40 school days of the deadline for lodging appeals |
