40 weeks per year (Term Time Plus 2 Weeks)
GRADE: Bexley Council 05 Points 051 to 054 – FTE Salary £22,185 to £22,587
Actual Salary, including Outer London Allowance: £19,484.97 to £19,838.04
Blackfen School is a progressive and vibrant learning community that focuses on raising the aspirations and releasing the potential of every young person in our care. In 2019, 60% of students in year 11 achieved five or more GCSE 9-4 grades, including at least a 4 in English and a 4 in Mathematics. Our Progress 8 score was 0.018. At A level in 2019, 96% of the grades were A*-E with 30% at A*-B and 63% at A*-C. Similarly, high levels were achieved in Level 3 BTEC qualifications.
Under the arrangements for Summer 2021 examinations, students in Years 11 and 13 continued to make very good progress.
Our flourishing Sixth Form offers a wide range of courses at AS and A2 level, as well as vocational level 2 and 3 courses.
We are looking for a Design and Technology Technician. The successful applicant will assist in the preparation of resources and equipment for use in lessons, ensuring the safe storage of equipment and assisting the team when necessary in practical lessons. You will also assist in the building of displays and preparation of examination work as required.
The successful candidate will coordinate the use and development of practical resources and facilities and work with their colleagues accordingly. Candidates with previous experience in a similar role will have a distinct advantage, however training maybe provided.
The relevant Food Certification will not be compulsory but will be advantageous.
Candidates should possess a good standard of education and have the ability to communicate with Teachers and Students.
Successful Candidate will be required to undertake a Disclosure and Barring Check.
