Examinations Information



'Collection of Summer 2020 examination results'

We are inviting examination students to collect their results, in school, as is our usual practice but with strict adherence to the protocols of social distancing. This means that the number of students and their time spent in school will be regulated, so that we take responsibility for the health and safety of both adults and young people on site and in the public area at the front of the school. Unfortunately, it will not be possible to bring friends and family members to collect examination results. 

Students should arrive at the single pedestrian gate at the front of school, leading down the path towards Sherwood Park Primary School, no more than 10 minutes before their allocated time:


Thursday 13th August: Level 3 BTEC / AS / A-level results

9.00 am – Group 1

9.30 am – Group 2 

10.00 am – Group 3 

10.30 am – Group 4

The Sixth form team will contact students, via their school email address, to tell them which group to attend. 


Thursday 20th August 2020: Level 2 BTEC / GCSE results

9.00 am – Blue Community and Year 12 GCSE results

9.30 am – Green Community

10.00 am – Purple Community

10.30 am – Red Community

11.00 am – Yellow Community

Mr Brown and Miss Minnis will be available on 13th August and 20th August, when examination results are issued to students and can provide further information about centre assessed grades. The autumn series

“The Government considers that students who do not feel their calculated grade reflects their ability should be afforded an opportunity to sit an exam at the earliest reasonable opportunity." (CONSULTATION DECISIONS An additional GCSE, AS and A level exam series in autumn 2020 - Proposals for an additional exam series in autumn 2020 in response to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic). 


This means that there will be a full series of A-level, AS and GCSE examinations in all subjects available in the autumn term of 2020. The ‘autumn series’ is available for students for who wish to improve their centre assessed grades by taking an actual examination. Students can choose the examination subjects that they wish to take. The examination timetable will run as follows:   

GCE AS and A-level examinations start on Monday 5th October and finish on Friday 23rd October.

GCSE examinations start on Monday 2nd November and finish on Monday 23rd November.


Registration for the autumn series examinations

The deadline dates for examination registration are:

GCE AS & A-level: 9.00 am on 24th August 2020

GCSE: 9.00 am on 11th September 2020


Registration for examinations in the autumn series is via email to by the deadline date stating your full name, examination candidate number and the examination which you want to take, for example:

Jane Brown 7168 GCSE History

David Green 7906 A-level Psychology


Students will receive an email confirming they have been entered for the examinations requested. Individual examination timetables will be issued to students in September. Please contact the Examinations Officers, via the same email address, should you have further queries. 


Year 11 Enrolment at Blackfen School Sixth Form

Having received their examination results, Year 11 students should confirm their place in Blackfen School Sixth Form by completing the on-line enrolment form by the deadline of 2pm on 20th August 2020.



1. Go to the ‘Sixth Form’ tab on the Blackfen School website (

2. Click on ‘Enrolment’ on the right-hand side of the page.

3. Complete the on-line form by entering your GCSE results and confirmed course choices. Then click on ‘Submit’.

4. You will receive a confirmation email with a unique ID. Save this email.
