SALARY: MPR (INCLUDING OUTER LONDON ALLOWANCE) + TLR 3
Blackfen School is a progressive and vibrant learning community that focuses on raising the aspirations and releasing the potential of every young person in our care. In 2019, 60% of students in year 11 achieved five or more GCSE 9-4 grades, including at least a 4 in English and a 4 in Mathematics. Our Progress 8 score was 0.018. At A level in 2019, 96% of the grades were A*-E with 30% at A*-B and 63% at A*-C. Similarly, high levels were achieved in Level 3 BTEC qualifications.
Under the arrangements for Summer 2021 examinations, students in Years 11 and 13 continued to make very good progress.
Our flourishing Sixth Form offers a wide range of courses at AS and A2 level, as well as vocational level 2 and 3 courses.
Our Governors wish to appoint an ambitious, talented, innovative Subject Co-ordinator of Music in our Expressive Arts Faculty, who is committed to raising achievement and who has the capacity to make a real contribution to the work of a supportive and continually improving school.
Ambition for excellence, a passion for student achievement and the desire to develop professional skills within a supportive learning community will characterise applications for this post.
The ability to teach Music and Music Technology at BTEC Level 3 and across the age and ability range is required.
The post would suit a more experienced teacher.
