SALARY: MPR + OUTER LONDON ALLOWANCE
Blackfen School is a progressive and vibrant learning community that focuses on raising the aspirations and releasing the potential of every young person in our care. In 2019, 60% of students in year 11 achieved five or more GCSE 9-4 grades, including at least a 4 in English and a 4 in Mathematics. Our Progress 8 score was 0.018. At A level in 2019, 96% of the grades were A*-E with 30% at A*-B and 63% at A*-C. Similarly, high levels were achieved in Level 3 BTEC qualifications.
Under the arrangements for Summer 2021 examinations, students in Years 11 and 13 continued to make very good progress.
Our flourishing Sixth Form offers a wide range of courses at AS and A2 level, as well as vocational level 2 and 3 courses.
Our Governors want to appoint a well-qualified, motivated and innovative teacher who is committed to raising achievement and who has the capacity to make a real contribution to the work of a supportive and continually improving school.
The successful candidate will be a French AND Spanish Specialist. Ability to teach French AND Spanish up to GCSE and A level.
The post would suit either an NQT (ECT) or more experienced teacher.

This post is considered to be a customer-facing position; as such it falls within scope of the Code of Practice on English language requirement for public sector workers. The school therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016 to ensure that the post holders have a command of spoken English sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements.
