39 weeks per year (term time plus one week)
GRADE: Bexley Council 05 Points 051 to 054 – FTE Salary £22,575 to £22,983
Actual Salary inc. Outer London Allowance: £14,541.82 to £14,804.64
Blackfen School is a progressive and vibrant learning community that focuses on raising the aspirations and releasing the potential of every young person in our care. In 2019, 60% of students in year 11 achieved five or more GCSE 9-4 grades, including at least a 4 in English and a 4 in Mathematics. Our Progress 8 score was 0.018. At A level in 2019, 96% of the grades were A*-E with 30% at A*-B and 63% at A*-C. Similarly, high levels were achieved in Level 3 BTEC qualifications.
Under the arrangements for Summer 2021 examinations, students in Years 11 and 13 continued to make very good progress.
Our flourishing Sixth Form offers a wide range of courses at AS and A2 level, as well as vocational level 2 and 3 courses.
Our Governors wish to appoint Two Permanent and One Temporary Teaching Assistants who will join our Special Educational Needs Department. We are looking for candidates who have the drive and motivation to help students to succeed in school. We are inviting you to apply for this role, to join our friendly Teaching Assistant’s Team and become part of the SEN Department supporting students with their learning.
Candidates will need good literacy, numeracy and ICT skills to be able to support pupils in a variety of curriculum areas.
Previous experience of working in a Secondary School is preferred.
Candidates will need to be available to work from 8.30am until 3.10pm each day.
Successful Candidates will be required to undertake a Disclosure and Barring Check.
