Raising aspirations - releasing potential

Harvest Tea welcomes elderly residents

More than 40 elderly residents attended our 63rd Harvest Tea last week  to join us for tea, sandwiches and cakes, all served by students.

Our guests, which included The Mayor of Bexley Cllr Sharon Massey, enjoyed light entertainment from students and a sing along to some classic old tunes and also received bags of provisions as gifts.

Mr and Mrs Doreen and Ken Batchelder were at the event and were both students at Blackfen School back in the days when it was a mixed school. Ken started in 1937, when it was a brand new school and Doreen started in 1941.  They were intrigued to look through the Log Book that previous Head Teachers had kept when the school opened in 1937 to 1962.  Mr Brown, our current Head now does a blog on our website instead.
